Posdata Commences Mobile WiMAX Business in Kuala Lumpur
February 01, 2008
Korea-based IT service provider Posdata, a subsidiary of Korean steel company Posco, recently opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in preparation for entering the mobile WiMAX market in 2008. Serving as the operation center for Posdata's mobile WiMAX sales and engineering teams in Southeast Asia, the office is scheduled to start full operations in February 2008.

Posdata's mobile WiMAX products include base station and control station equipment. In addition, the company offers the element management system, authentication accounting system, and terminals to telecommunications service providers.

Furthermore, in January 2008, the company's mobile WiMAX base stations and terminals were certified by the IDA (Infocomm Development Authority) of Singapore. IDA's approval is crucial to supplying telecommunications services and other IT equipment in Singapore, enabling Posdata to further its cultivation of the Southeast Asian market.
